Privacy policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
This policy explains how we process personal data when you use the Foxi Taxi platform — as a rider, as a driver or as a visitor of this website. We process personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on personal data protection.
1. Who is the controller
The controller of your personal data is Verteco Digital Services s.r.o., with its registered office in Bratislava, Slovakia, the operator of the Foxi Taxi service. You can reach us regarding data protection at [email protected].
2. What data we process
We only process data we need to run the service:
- Riders: name, phone number, email address, pickup and drop-off locations of your rides, ride history, in-ride chat messages with your driver, payment method metadata (we never see full card numbers) and your communication with support.
- Drivers: identity and contact details, driving licence and taxi licence data, vehicle details and documents, bank account for payouts, earnings and ledger records, ratings, in-ride chat messages, and GPS location during an online shift — collected continuously, including while the app runs in the background. Location is never collected while you are offline. For meal deliveries the app can take a proof-of-delivery photo with the camera (location metadata is stripped before storage) and record the recipient’s name. Fleet owners may additionally provide contact phone numbers of drivers they invite to their fleet.
- Driver applicants: name, phone number, city and language you signed up in through the early-access form.
- Technical data: device type, app version, IP address, crash reports and diagnostic logs.
3. Why we process it
We process personal data to match riders with drivers and provide rides, to calculate prices and process payments, to keep the platform safe and prevent fraud, to provide support and handle complaints, to fulfil legal obligations (tax, accounting, transport regulations) and — with your consent — to contact you about the launch of the service.
4. Legal bases
Performance of a contract (providing rides, driver payouts), compliance with legal obligations (accounting, tax and transport law), legitimate interest (fraud prevention, platform safety, dispute resolution) and consent (early-access contact, marketing communication). You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
5. How long we keep data
Account and ride data are kept for the lifetime of your account and afterwards only as long as legal obligations require (accounting documents up to 10 years under Slovak law). If you delete your account, your profile is anonymised immediately; ride records, receipts and in-ride chat messages are kept for the legally required period because they are also the other party's record. Early-access sign-ups are kept until we contact you about the launch or until you withdraw consent, whichever comes first.
Driver GPS location history is kept for 90 days for safety, support and dispute resolution and is then automatically deleted.
6. Who processes data for us
We use a small number of vetted processors, each bound by a data processing agreement:
- Stripe — payment processing and driver payouts.
- Google Firebase — push notification delivery.
- Sentry — error and crash monitoring.
- Infobip — SMS delivery (verification codes).
- Mapbox — route and travel time calculation.
- OpenFreeMap — map tile delivery (the tile server technically receives the device’s IP address and the viewed map area).
7. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interest and to withdraw consent at any time. You can export your data and delete your account directly in the app under Account, or email [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR).
8. Data protection contact
For all questions regarding personal data and to exercise your rights, contact [email protected]. If we appoint a data protection officer, their contact will be published on this page.
